My dad read this book to me when I was like seven, so about nine years ago, and I%26#039;m sure it%26#039;s much older. I want to know the title. Anyway:
-It was a compilation of stories.
-One was a story about the Huckabuck (or something similar) family. There was a lot of popcorn and something about a shoe buckle in it to. Maybe a squash... not sure.
-Another was a story of a kid who stayed a night in a karate place of some sort and there was some kind of fight between cats he drew and goblins.

Buckling in the toe on freeds and blochs?
My first pair of shoes were capezio glisse%26#039;s with a medium shank but those were too soft for me. The next pointe shoe i wanted harder so i got blochs. I find it really hard to actually point my foot in them because they buckle at the toe. I noticed that freeds do the same. For my 3rd pair of pointe shoe i don%26#039;t wan%26#039;t a shoe that buckles at the toe or box but is also very hard in the shank. Any suggestions? i was thinking maybe grishko or chacotts. I know i don%26#039;t like blochs but the bloch axis also looks like it doesn%26#039;t buckle.

They are peep toe, pumps, suede in the colors of red, black, gray, brown, and purple with a buckle over the toes.
They are so cute and I%26#039;m obsessed with them but I cannot find them ANYWHERE!
The design of them is called something like %26#039;freesha%26#039; or frija...not exact spelling but sounds the way that I spelled it.

I always thought it was mostly because when the buckle is decorative it%26#039;s so it%26#039;s easily visible.

Can Flip Flops (thongs) make you lazy?
ever since i have been wearing flipflops, i now find other shoes to be so much work.
sneakers- you have to put them on, and then tie them. thats 5 seconds gone to waste
heels- feet first, take hand and place the heel in the shoe, another few seconds wasted
shoes- buckles, buttons etc. time gone again
flip flops- slide in and go! sometimes i dont even put them on in the house, i bring them with me to the car and slide in them then!

Can you help me find a men's slip-on athletic shoe similar to the one I've worn out?
I%26#039;m wearing a Reebok navy blue slip-on that has an athletic look that I purchased in (approximately) 2002. It is not a mule. There are no elastic laces, zippers, or buckles. It looks NOTHING like the slip-ons I have seen at Reebok, Nike, and Adidas outlet stores this last weekend. There are several different trends in athletic slip-ons, and I don%26#039;t like any of them. 1) I think athletic shoes that show off gigantic springs, coils, gel, cushions, or whatever in the heel are ridiculous for me: a 31yr old. 2) Shoes that are geared towards people who camp/whatever and come in colors called %26quot;Mud%26quot;... not my style. 3) Shoes that scream for attention using 3 mismatched colors. 4) Slip-ons that are geared to retirees, with no-fuss and no-style. I just bought the most gorgeous skirt and jacket suit with little orange dots in it. The orange is very similar - if not exactly like the plain orange gatorade color. I would like a pair of heels (preferably closed toe w/ a pretty high heel) to accent the orange in the suit...i was thinking black with an orange band or bow or buckle or something. Most sites i%26#039;ve visited online have only solid black or solid orange heels (bleck). Where on earth could I find a shoe with the two colors I need???

I treated my poor feet for fungal infections for years with no effect. However I once noticed how th rash on my feet looked just the same as the allergic reaction I get from belt buckles and watch backs. could I be allergic to shoes?

I have a pair of shoes that I got at nordstroms rack. They are bp. shoes. They come in lots of sizes (up to at least 11). They are three inch wedges, that are skinny wedges at the back. the bottom appears to be made of braided rope. They have five skinny leatherlike straps at the base of the toe, that are knotted together on top of your foot. They have a triangular strap at the back, and then a strap that goes around your ankle. They%26#039;re available in blue, black and white that I have seen.
Please find me pictures (in any color). First to get both gets ten points. (If there%26#039;s a discrepency, first to get the dress wins.

They were purchased over ten years ago at either a Dillard%26#039;s department store, or McAlpin%26#039;s before Dillard%26#039;s bought them out. They%26#039;re reddish brown leather dress shoes with a single, thick strap that fastens with a brass buckle. brought me in the whiskey locker, it was well known that his primary MOS was marine force recon, he put me in a special chokehold that completely blocked my breathing and the thing about it, he only used three of his fingers!!! marine boot camp is suppose to be legally %26quot;hands off%26quot;. my question is, is making a big deal over a belt buckle suppose to make me a better marine?

Please help, I start tomorrow at a shoe factory...?
My wife today talked to her boss, and got me a tryout tomorrow at the shoe factory she works at. I´ll be working on an assembly line joining uppers, lasts, soles, insoles, (back)straps, buckles, %26amp; lining. I know nothing about shoes, and never worked on an assembly line, but I need to be very quick and accurate. I really REALLY don´t want to leave any type of bad impression, and I´ve never worked at a place like that. So my question is, what are some pointers and tips you could suggest to me??? ANY advice before tomorrow morning would be GREATLY APPECIATED. Take care and have a good night´(I´ll check b4 the tryout/interview tomorrow).

in the whiskey locker, put only three of his fingers on my wind pipe, i couldnt breath for about 30 seconds, and then he punched me in the stomach hard, just over a lousy belt buckle!!!! i know most of u in the military category will say the drill instructor done the right thing but hitting recruits is against the law! my question is, why you all condone this type of behavior? i am not a punching bag!!

the habadashery dept in any store will or should have a range of buckles you could buy and take to the repairer, or alternatively,, go op-shopping! find buckles on not so nice shoes and cut them off for re use. have fun!
